Chevrolet Chevrolet C-Max made its debut as a pickup in early 2000, but the automaker moved aggressively to develop new models with powerful more powerful engines, better handling, smoother corners and less weight — a fact that only made it popular in a country that often looked to a big car as a replacement.

Chevrolet C-Max (center), made in 1937, is the first car to feature electric powertrains. While Chevrolet is the first car that has an electric drivetrain, it also has an electric roof.
